The short version
Romanesku is a free, community-built climbing map for Spain, operated by [LEGAL ENTITY / OPERATOR NAME]. Climbers add and correct the information. That makes it useful — and it means you must not treat it as authoritative. Read the safety section; it's the one that matters.
Safety — climbing information can be wrong
Grades, approach and access notes, warnings, and anything else you read here are contributed by other climbers. They may be mistaken, incomplete, or out of date. Rock changes, bolts and anchors corrode, approaches get overgrown, and access agreements and nesting closures change from one season to the next.
Climbing is dangerous and can kill or seriously injure you. You are responsible for your own safety: judge the rock and the fixed gear yourself, check current access restrictions with local sources, and make your own decisions. Absence of a warning on Romanesku does not mean a route, sector or approach is safe or legally open.
Romanesku is information, not advice, and it is no substitute for experience, instruction, a current guidebook, or local knowledge.
Your account
- You must be at least 14 years old.
- Sign up with an email address that works — it is how you verify the account and recover the password. Keep the password to yourself.
- Choose any name you like. We don't ask for your real one. But don't pick a name that impersonates another climber, a guidebook author, a landowner or an organisation, and don't pick one that suggests you speak for Romanesku.
- We may reclaim a name that impersonates someone, is offensive, or is being squatted, and give it to the person it belongs to.
- You're responsible for what happens under your account.
- You can delete it whenever you like, from /account/delete or in Settings.
What you contribute
When you add access notes, ratings, warnings, comments or photos, you keep ownership of what you wrote, and you give us permission to show it in the app as part of the shared map. These are shown publicly, with the name you chose against each one; ratings appear only inside an average, and an ascent is shown only if you shared it. The privacy policy has the full list of what other climbers can see.
- Only post what is yours to post. In particular, don't copy descriptions, topos or photos out of guidebooks or other sites — guidebook content is copyrighted, and its authors are often the same people maintaining the crags.
- Contribute in good faith: real information about real places. No spam, harassment, or deliberately false data.
- Don't post information that would endanger others, or that breaks an access agreement or a legal closure.
- We may edit or remove contributions, and suspend accounts that abuse the map.
Base climbing data
The underlying database of areas, crags, sectors and routes did not originate with Romanesku. Its source and licence terms: [BASE DATA SOURCE + LICENCE TERMS — UNRESOLVED, see CLAUDE.md].
Availability
Romanesku is provided as-is, with no promise that it will be available, complete, or correct. The app needs a network connection to work; there is no offline mode yet, so do not rely on it as your only source of information at a crag.
Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by the law of [COUNTRY / JURISDICTION], [LEGAL ENTITY / OPERATOR NAME] is not liable for injury, loss or damage arising from your use of Romanesku or from information you found here — including information that turned out to be wrong. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Changes and contact
These terms may change; the effective date above will change with them. Reach us at [CONTACT EMAIL]. Governing law: [COUNTRY / JURISDICTION].
